As our Banquet Manager, you will be responsible for directing the Banquet department in the day to day operations while maintaining quality standards to exceed the expectations of our guests.

Responsibilities
  • Planning, organizing and directing team members to ensure the highest degree of guest satisfaction.
  • Oversees the set-up of function rooms to include placement of tables, chairs, linens, silver, china and glassware according to event order specifications. Visually inspects function rooms and equipment prior to functions being set.
  • Works directly with the guest at events to ensure all specifications are executed up to standards and any last minute changes or requests are met; investigates and resolves any complaints.
  • Confers with food preparation and other personnel during the course of the function including, but not limited to, the kitchen, service, beverage, convention services, and engineering staffs, to ensure timely execution of the event.
  • Inspects food and food preparation to maintain quality standards and sanitation regulations.
  • Reviews financial transactions and monitors budget to ensure efficient operation, and to ensure expenditures stay within budget limitations.
  • Rewards employees who use their empowerment to meet or exceed guest expectations. Appraises performance and disciplines as needed.
  • Hires, trains and supervises up to 20+ employees in the operation in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
  • Schedules team members within budgeted guidelines and monitors payroll through ADP.
  • Creates pre-function/post-function lists of responsibilities to be completed before staff members arrive.
  • Ensures all liquor and food consumption sheets are properly completed and turned in with BEO and that captain’s reports are completed for all functions and copies appropriate party.
  • Monitors Delphi checks and ensures they are signed by clients and match the Micros checks as well as following all other billing policy and procedures.
Qualifications
  • Associate degree from accredited college/university of related culinary management program preferred, or 3-4 years related experience. Must have at least 2 year experience in a lead or supervisory role.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to read, write, comprehend, and carry out complex instructions, correspondence and memos.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other departments and leaders to complete property/corporate initiatives and effective day to day operations.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and effectively manage multiple priorities in a demanding work environment.
  • Effective labor management to minimize overtime and ensure appropriate staff assignment to guest traffic flow.
  • Functional knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
