JOB DESCRIPTION
As our General Mechanical Maintenance Technician , you will be responsible for maintaining the guestrooms, public area space and back of the house areas by using a variety of different skills including, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, air conditioning, painting, wall covering and masonry to ensure an attractive and well-maintained hotel.
What you can help us do: Perform general repair and maintenance of any and all equipment found in and around the hotel.

Your every day:
  • Visually inspect and detect items needing repairs.
  • Make repairs and inspect guestrooms, public space areas and back of the house areas to repair, including but not limited to touch-up or replacing light fixtures and bulbs, lamps, switches, outlets, faucets, toilets, hardware, filters, etc.
  • Paint, deliver and/or repair furniture, fix or install wall coverings, caulking, grouting, or other miscellaneous repairs needed throughout the hotel.
  • Maintain a clean work area which includes your supplies and workshop area.
  • Complete any special projects as assigned by your supervisor.
  • Respond to guest room calls as required.
  • Accurate record keeping on assigned tasks is required.
What you need to perform this job successfully:
  • 2-4 years of related experience and/or training is required.
  • Must possess basic electrical, plumbing, and carpentry skills.
  • Knowledge of basic power tools and hand tools.
  • Knowledge of basic mechanical aptitude for operation and repair of the hotel equipment.
  • Ability to read, comprehend, and write simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
