Position Overview

To assist in the effective management and direction of dining room and bar operations in reference to quality service, supervision of associates, and supervisors, monitor quality and consistency of food production, cost control, and inventory. In addition, to support the Shared Values of the Hotel.

Responsibilities
  • Supervise restaurant staff for the efficient operation of the outlet. Organize and conduct pre-meal and departmental meetings to communicate pertinent information to the staff, such as house count and menu changes. Relay pertinent information to managers, such as guest comments and associate requests.
  • Assist in ensuring that restaurant complies with sanitation and safety standards for guests and associates. Check that all equipment is in working order. Visually inspect and take action to ensure that facilities in restaurant look appealing and attractive to guests. Follow-up on work orders so repairs and maintenance of facility are completed on a timely basis.
  • Monitor product quality and guest satisfaction in restaurant. Ensure that food quality is consistent, appealing, and prepared to guest specifications. Interact with guests to obtain feedback on quality of service and food in outlet.
  • Document inventory, forecast usage and monitor supply so that restaurants are stocked with linen, glassware, silverware, china, and Micros tape and ribbon in order to provide service.
  • Manage challenging customer situations; Responds promptly to customer needs; Solicits customer feedback to improve service; Responds to requests for service and assistance.
  • Assist in the continual training of all staff members.
Qualifications
  • Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
  • Strong knowledge of Food & Beverage operations and preparation techniques.
  • High School diploma required. Degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management preferred.
  • One to three years’ experience as a manager or assistant manager of restaurant operations.
