Public Area Attendant-Full-Time
The Lakefront, Anchorage hotel (formerly the Millennium Hotel) is recruiting for full time, Public Area Attendant to join our team. At the Lakefront Anchorage Hotel we strive to deliver a memorable experience for our guests. Situated on the shores of scenic Lake Spenard, one mile from Anchorage International Airport and four miles from downtown Anchorage, the Lakefront Anchorage Hotel is the perfect starting point to explore the many wonders Alaska has to offer. The Lakefront Anchorage Hotel boasts 248 rooms and three outstanding food and beverage outlets.

The role of the public area attendant is promoting a positive image of the property giving our guests' a pleasant first impression by keeping the lobby and all public areas neat and clean.

Typical duties of the public area attendant include:

• Thoroughly clean sinks, toilets, urinals, mirrors, tiles, counters, walls, and stalls, vents and/or floors with appropriate cleaning agents. Adhere to cleaning procedures and instructions for use of cleaning agents.
• Thoroughly dust all furniture, pictures, displays and shelves.
• Maintain the cleanliness of the lobby at all times and move/arrange lobby furniture as necessary to mop, sweep and vacuum.
• Thoroughly and polish metalwork, glass, doors, and sills in all public areas.
• Sweep, scrub, and wax all floors in public areas.
• Clean rugs, carpets, and upholstered furniture in all public areas and offices.
• Empty trash receptacles in all public areas including outside and offices.

The successful applicant will:

• Knowledge of chemical cleaning agents and operation of various cleaning equipment.
• Ability to extend arms, scrub, bend, stoop, and stand and walk public areas for extended periods of time.
• Ability to understand and follow directions, and perform job functions under limited supervision.
• Considerable walking and standing is required.
• Basic ability to comprehend English language sufficient to understanding information such as safety labels and instructions.
• Prior hotel experience preferred.
• Ability to perform well in a high-pressured work environment.
• Possess prioritization and multi-tasking skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with other employees as well as guests.
• Is consistently at work and on time.
• Perform duties in a safe manner.
• Work as a productive team member by contributing positive energy.
• Be professional in all interactions with guests and associates and treat all individuals with respect.
• Must be reliable, adaptable and dependable.
